YouthAlert! (YA!) U.S.A., in cooperation with several U. N. Member States, was successful in getting groundbreaking language on child and youth universal violence prevention education included in 2017's “Rights of the Child” (RoC) Resolution in the U.N. 72nd General Assembly. The RoC Resolution was officially passed on Sunday, December 24, 2017, by the entire U.N. 72nd General Assembly. The was not one "no" vote. Uruguay was the main sponsor of 2017 resolution. Here is a link to the RoC Resolution, document A/72/435. The paragraph YouthAlert! (YA!) U.S.A. worked to include on is on page 31, under Operative Paragraph (O.P) 35 (k). It reads as follows:

“To accelerate efforts to scale up scientifically accurate age-appropriate comprehensive education, relevant to cultural contexts, that provides adolescent girls and boys, young women and men, in and out of school, consistent with their evolving capacities, and with appropriate direction and guidance from parents and legal guardians, with information on sexual and reproductive health, gender equality and women’s empowerment, human rights, physical, psychological and pubertal development and power in relationships between women and men, to enable them to build self-esteem and informed decision-making, communication and risk reduction skills and develop respectful relationships, in full partnership with young people, parents, legal guardians, caregivers, educators and health-care providers in order to protect them from violence;”

United Nations (U.N.) Culture of Peace Resolution 2017

YouthAlert! (YA!) U.S.A., in cooperation with several U.N. Member States, was also successful in getting child violence, bullying, and abuse, prevention education language included in this year’s “Follow-up to the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace” Resolution, Operative Paragraph (O.P.) 10, which was passed by the United Nations 72nd General Assembly on December 11, 2017. Here is the link to the document A/72/L.30, where this year’s “Culture of Peace” Resolution was presented. This year’s main sponsor of this "Culture of Peace” Resolution was Bangladesh. Operative Paragraph (O.P.) 10 reads as follows:
